Star Wars Zero Company has 12 classes in total. Eight are standard Specializations available to any recruit, and four are exotic classes locked to specific story characters.
The 8 Standard Specializations
The eight standard Specializations are Assault, Gunslinger, Heavy, Medic, Scoundrel, Scout, Sharpshooter, and Soldier. These are available to any Operator you recruit.
Each Specialization provides its own Ultimate, a Standard Ability, and a Passive. Standard Specializations can be changed through the Personnel room at the Den, giving you room to experiment with different builds.
The 4 Exotic Classes
Four exotic classes are locked to specific story characters. These include the Jedi Padawan and the Mandalorian, among others. The full list of exotic classes has not been detailed in official materials (to be confirmed).
Exotic classes are not freely selectable for custom Operators; they come with their associated story characters.
Dual-Class Builds
Operators later unlock a second Specialization, opening up dual-class builds. Each character also progresses through a per-character Focus Tree, which further differentiates builds.
This means the 12 classes combine into far more than 12 effective builds, since an Operator can pair two Specializations together.
How Classes Affect Combat
Classes shape your turn-based tactics. Each Operator has three action points (AP) per turn to spend on movement, attacks, and abilities, plus a shared Advantage meter that powers special abilities without costing AP.
Cover, flanking, high ground, and Overwatch all play into how you position your squad, and your class composition determines how well you handle missions.
Quick FAQ
Are classes permanent? Standard Specializations can be changed at the Den's Personnel room. Exotic classes are tied to story characters.
Can I change Hawks' class? Hawks' combat Specialization and appearance are customizable, and you can switch species and appearance between missions (to be confirmed for mid-campaign respec limits).
A Closer Look at the Specializations
Each of the eight standard Specializations fills a tactical role. Assault, Gunslinger, Heavy, Medic, Scoundrel, Scout, Sharpshooter, and Soldier cover damage, support, mobility, and defense niches across a four-operator squad.
Every Specialization provides its own Ultimate, a Standard Ability, and a Passive. Because Operators can later unlock a second Specialization, you can pair roles to create hybrid builds.
Focus Tree and Talents
Each character progresses through a per-character Focus Tree, which unlocks further options and differentiates builds beyond the base class. This sits alongside the Bond system, where squadmates who fight together unlock cross-training bonuses.
The exact ability lists and talent trees for each Specialization have not been fully detailed in official materials yet (to be confirmed), so check back for post-launch updates.
