Enemies & Faction Counter-Tactics

The three enemy forces of Star Wars Zero Company — Infinite Coil, Separatist droids, and Outlaws — and how to beat each one.

Star Wars Zero Company pits your squad against three distinct enemy forces. Each faction fights differently, so a loadout that shreds one can struggle against another. Always read the mission briefing before deploying.

1. The Infinite Coil — Kill-Order Priority

The Infinite Coil is a Separatist-aligned paramilitary cult led by the enigmatic Kundri Fathom. Every member, Fathom included, is infected with the Shadow Plague, a mysterious contagion rumored to grant unnatural resilience and deadly abilities. The Coil preys on vulnerable populations across Republic worlds — and with every world it takes, the plague spreads and its ranks swell.

Key Units

  • Strikers — The shock troops of the cult, aggressive and hard to put down.
  • Typhon — A super tactical droid that coordinates Infinite Coil and Separatist forces on the battlefield.
  • Visser — A senior Infinite Coil figure and one of the cult's lead fighters.
  • Kundri Fathom — The cult leader herself; the campaign's central antagonist.

Counter-Tactics

  • Focus fire in a strict kill order. Coil units hit harder the longer they stay alive, so remove the biggest threat first rather than spreading damage.
  • Strip the screeners. Strikers protect high-value targets; clear or displace them before committing to the leader.
  • Exploit Advantage abilities. Area attacks and finishing blows that build the shared Advantage pool let you answer Coil pressure with rocket strikes and extra AP.

2. Separatist Droid Army — Bring Ion Weapons

The Separatist Alliance wages the galaxy-wide Clone Wars with mass-produced battle droid legions. Zero Company crosses these armies repeatedly, from standard B1 battle droids to elite commando droids, rolling droidekas, and super tactical droids that coordinate the entire enemy force.

Key Units

  • Battle droids — Fragile but numerous; they trade lives for positioning.
  • Commando droids — Tougher elite infantry that punish exposed operators.
  • Droidekas — Rolling shield generators that are deadly at range until their shields drop.
  • Super tactical droids — Commanders that relay orders and keep the droid force fighting coherently.

Counter-Tactics

  • Prioritize ion weapons and anti-droid utilities. Ion damage is the most efficient way to strip droid armor and disable dangerous units like droidekas.
  • Shoot the commander. Removing a super tactical droid degrades the coordination of the entire squad behind it.
  • Destroy cover, not just droids. Droids rely on cover and numbers; flanking and cover destruction expose the swarm to your overwatch cone.

3. Outlaws — Swarm Control

Beyond the war's front lines, Zero Company tangles with Outlaws: smugglers, raiders, and hired guns who fight for profit rather than ideology. They rarely match the Coil or the droid army one-for-one, but they compensate with numbers, ambushes, and dirty tricks.

Counter-Tactics

  • Manage the swarm. Outlaw squads win by surrounding you; keep a Heavy or Soldier forward to absorb pressure and pin chokepoints.
  • Overwatch the approaches. A well-placed overwatch cone interrupts advancing fighters and thins the wave before it reaches cover.
  • Don't overcommit to one target. Clear weak units first to deny the enemy action economy, then mop up the leaders.
