Star Wars Zero Company Early Access: What We Know

No early access period has been announced. The full game launches August 27, 2026.

No Star Wars Zero Company early access period has been announced. The game is scheduled for a full launch on August 27, 2026, with pre-orders open now but no playable early-access build made available to the public.

What "Early Access" Means Here

Some games ship a playable early-access build weeks at launch, often as a pre-order incentive. For Star Wars Zero Company, EA and Bit Reactor have not announced any such program. All official materials describe a single release date of August 27, 2026 (to be confirmed whether a pre-release window will be added).

There is also no public demo listed on the Steam page or the EA page. The Steam store listing shows pre-order buttons and no demo option.

What Pre-Orders Give You Instead

Instead of early access, pre-ordering grants the Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack. It includes an R3 droid, translucent "crystalline" astromech heads for the R4 and R5 droid variants, and the BR-1 droid that originates in Star Wars Zero Company.

The Deluxe Edition adds the Grand Army of the Republic and Shadow Collective cosmetic packs, plus five painted weapon themes, but it does not include early access either.

Press Preview vs. Early Access

Members of the press and select content creators have played hands-on preview builds at launch. These previews describe roughly ten hours of campaign access, but this was press access, not a public early-access program.

Previews from IGN, PC Gamer, and others are positive about the tactical combat, character customization, and bond system, while noting some pre-release technical rough edges.

What Is Confirmed for Launch

The full single-player campaign is available at launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Bit Reactor estimates the main story at 30 to 40 hours, with permadeath, four difficulty settings, and full squad customization included from day one.

If an early-access window or demo is announced later, it will be confirmed through official EA and Lucasfilm Games channels. Until then, treat any early-access claims as unverified.

How the Campaign Loop Works

To understand why early access matters less here, it helps to know the campaign structure. The game runs in Cycles: you explore your base, run non-combat Operations from the holo-map, then launch one tactical combat mission to advance time.

Missions and Operations carry timers and disappear if ignored, so you cannot do everything in one playthrough. Between missions you manage the Den, your base on the Ring of Kafrene.

Combat, Bonds, and Permadeath

The turn-based combat gives each character three action points per turn, spent on movement, attacks, and abilities. A shared Advantage meter, charged by attacking enemies, powers special abilities without costing AP. Cover, flanking, and high ground all shift your chance to hit.

Squadmates who fight together build Bonds that unlock cross-training bonuses, and permadeath is on by default, meaning everyone except Hawks can die permanently. These systems are all available in the full launch build.
